I met a woman this week who, at age 80, is beginning her family history research. I volunteered to help her, and while I did not discover the names of all of her grandparents, I was delighted to find her great-grandfather's occupation listed as "writer" on one of the censuses. On a whim, I googled his name, and one of the first hits was a wikipedia article--complete with two terrific photos!
You never know what you will discover when you google an ancestor's name. Have you made any family history discoveries with an internet search?
Thanks for google!

ReplyDeleteThat's cool! I love genealogy.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have not done that. I wouldn't really know how to start a genealogy search, but sounds like it would be fun.
