Recently (and I'm using "recently" in the old person way--probably a year or so ago), I purchased a big heavy bird cage at a garage sale. I knew it would be perfect for decorating somehow. Yesterday, I finally figured out what to do.
With "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" echoing in my mind, I searched around the house for items I could use.
A hanging basket holds a pot of fake red tulips.
Blue wooden candlesticks hold bouquets of foil stars.
It took me all of two minutes to plop the items inside the cage, and now the corner of my outside dining area sports a splash of color, just in time for summer.
Thanks for simple solutions.
